Body washes ashore at Cape Recife

The body of a man dressed in a wet suit washed ashore at Cape Recife in Gqeberha on Tuesday afternoon.

Police Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the unknown man was found on the beach behind the shooting range after 5 pm.

She says for now an inquest docket has been opened as a post-mortem will still be done to determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.

Any person who might assist police in identifying the deceased is urged to contact police.
