Body of missing teen washes ashore in East London

The body of a 15-year-old Eastern Cape school girl who drowned near East London on Thursday has been recovered.

Police provincial spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, confirmed that her body washed ashore early on Friday morning.

Tonjeni said the teenager was part of a group of 30 learners from Dutwya on an educational outing at the Palm Spring Holiday Resorts.

Her identity has not yet been released.
