Body of missing PE man found in Nature Reserve

Port Elizabeth says a post-mortem will be done to determine the exact cause of death of a man whose body was found on Thursday, following his disappearance last month.

Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, says however that a bottle containing a poisonous substance was found next to the body of 54-year-old John du Plessis.

He says his body was found on Thursday morning in bushes in a vast area deep inside the dense bushes in the Aloes Nature Reserve.

Beetge says the discovery was made by members of the police search and rescue K9 unit, who made use of quad-bikes to recover Du Plessis' body.

He says when du Plessis left his home on the 20th of February, he left a suicide note.
