Port Elizabeth police have discovered the body of a young Helenvale girl who was reported missing just over a week ago.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says the decomposed body of 11-year-old Fredeline Lottering was discovered on Sunday.
She was reported missing last Monday.
Janse Van Rensburg says the cause of death is not yet known but a post mortem will be done.
No arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, swift action by Port Elizabeth police has led to the arrest of two suspected car hijackers.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu, says the men, aged 25 and 28, were arresed in Kwazakhele on Sunday.
He says one of the suspects was busy stripping the hijacked vehicle of its number plate when he was spotted by police.
Gwavu says the two men will appear in court soon.
