Gqeberha police are investigating after the bodies of two men were found in separate incidents at Sardinia Bay and at the harbour.
Police spokesperson Captain Andre' Beetge said the body of a 30-year-old man was discovered washed ashore at Sardinia Bay on Thursday.
“He was dressed in diving gear, and it is suspected that he drowned. His name cannot be released yet as his next of kin have not yet been notified."
Captain Beetge said an inquest docket had been opened and was being investigated by Walmer police detectives.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Captain Beetge said the body of another man was found floating in the water in the harbour in Gqeberha.
He said the cause of death is unknown and an inquest docket was opened by detectives at Humewood police station.
The two discoveries came eight days after the body of a man in a wetsuit washed ashore at Cape Recife.
The deceased was later identified as 31-year-old Athule Phindani.
