The search for a missing businessman from Hartenbos has ended in tragedy with the discovery of his body.
Fifty-three-year-old Desmond Share was reported missing last week when he never showed up for work in Herbertsdale.
Police have now confirmed that Share's body was discovered on Saturday in bushes in Albertinia.
Spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says Share sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
He says an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the exact cause of death.
Sergeant Spies says the suspect who is appearing in court on Tuesday was arrested in Da Noon in Cape Town and will be charged with murder, hijacking and kidnapping.
Three more suspects linked to the murder are still at large.
Share's vehicle was spotted a week ago at a petrol station near Buffelsjagsrivier outside Swellendam and money was also withdrawn on two occasions.
His branded vehicle remains missing.
