George police are investigating the murder of a woman whose half-naked body was found early on Thursday morning.
The victim, whose identity is unknown at this stage, is believed to be in her twenties.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, says patrolling officers arrested two suspicious-looking men who were walking in Nelson Mandela Boulevard.
The men were arrested for being in possession of alleged stolen goods and were taken to the police station to be booked.
Pojie says whilst they were busy, the two men mentioned that they had passed by a woman who was lying along the railway line, presumedly dead.
Police rushed to the scene and made the grim discovery.
Pojie says they found the victim lying on her stomach with her hands tied behind her back.
He says the possibility that she could have been raped and strangled will form part of the murder investigation.
A Post mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Any person who can help police identify the victim is urged to contact SAPS.
The woman was wearing pink tights and a white t-shirt with long blond and coloured pleated hear.
