The body of the 4th victim of the New Year's Day drowning tragedy at Kenton on Sea has been recovered.
Police report that the body was found washed up on the Kariega main beach at Kenton on Sea early on Thursday morning.
Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli says the body was spotted by a member of the public around 5 am.
The little boy has been named as 11-year-old Kenton local Anovuyo Cirha.
He was swimming with three girls aged 10 to 13 at the Kariega main beach when they all got into difficulty late in the afternoon on New Year's Day.
The three girls were all pulled from the water and despite extensive CPR efforts by locals, lifeguards and NSRI rescue swimmers, were declared dead on the scene.
They have since been named as 11-year-old Thimna Manana and 10-year-old Asive Nelo from Kenton and 13-year-old Muhlelwethu Soul from Makhanda.
An extensive search was then launched for Anovuyo, culminating in the recovery of his body on Thursday morning.
Police have opened inquest dockets for further investigation.
