An air search has located the wreckage of a white BMW X5 belonging to a couple missing in the Port St Johns area since Sunday the 13th of May. Captain Nozuku Handile says police and search and rescue teams have been looking for 52-year-old Lusindiso Poyo and his 39-year-old girlfriend Nolwazi Mkhize ever since.
Captain Handile says a full scale search was embarked on by the police and various other role players.
The BMW was spotted from the air at the bottom of a cliff below the the Port St Johns airstrip on Thursday.
The bodies could not be retrieved because of the density of the terrain.
A police helicopter was called in on Friday and Captain Handile told AlgoaFM News that the bodies were retrieved in the early afternoon.
A full investigation into the incident is underway.
