A 59 year old blind woman was wounded in one of two gang-related shootings in the northern areas of Port Elizabeth wednesday.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Alwin Labans, says the woman was shot in the thigh when four men fired eight shots at a 24 year old man, wounding him in the back and leg.
He says the incident happened in Ibex Street, Helenvale, at around eight o'clock this morning.
Meanwile, Labans says a 19 year old man was shot in the back in another suspected gang-related shooting in Helenvale shortly after 1 am.
He says in both cases no arrests have yet been made.
