Fire fighters have extinguished a fire that broke out in a Billabong warehouse in Jeffrey's Bay in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli says they fire was reported shortly after midnight. He says at the moment police are treating this as an inquiry, until they get more information from the Fire Brigade as to the cause of the blaze.
Kouga municipal spokesperson, Mfundo Sobele says fire trucks from Jeffreys Bay, St Francis Bay, Humansdorp and Hankey were called to the scene, while two vehicles from the Nelson Mandela Metro Municipality were put on standby.
He says firefighters managed to contain the fire and save nearby shops and the nearby municipal sewer plant. Sobele says the fire was extinguished at 3:30 a.m.
