Big dagga bust in Laingsburg

Police in Laingsburg in the Western Cape have seized drugs worth R1.1 million during Safer Festive Season operations.

Spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies, said local police stopped a mini-bus on Monday morning and found 54 bags of dagga weighing in at 582 kilograms.

He said a woman was arrested after the drugs were positively linked to her.

Spies said the mini-bus driver fled and is still at large.

She is due to appear in court in Laingsburg on Tuesday.
