The Eastern Cape Education Department will meet teachers and learners at the Vukuhambe School for children with disabilities in Mdantsane on Thursday.
That's after the children brought the school to a standstill on Wednesday, demanding better security.
School principal Kenny Mjila says the learners, on crutches and in wheelchairs, blockaded the entrance to the school, burning tyres and disrupting traffic.
He says they were protesting because the school had suffered several break-ins recently where school and other equipment was stolen.
Mjila said the teachers met with the learners to discuss their concerns and will meet with the department education on Thursday.
