The Eastern Cape Health Department has rejected claims that junior doctors who joined the Department this year will only be paid by the end of April.
The Junior Doctors Association of South Africa said it was an attempt by the provincial treasury to hide the financial woes affecting the Eastern Cape government.
Judasa also said it would ensure that doctors who received bursaries from the Bhisho health department, fulfill their contractual obligations.
Bhisho Health Department spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo, denied Judasa's claim, saying that payment to the doctors are being processed.
He also stressed they would pursue bursary holders who failed to meet their obligations.
