Port Elizabeth police are searching for two men who broke into Bayworld this week and stole a male penguin, named Buddy.Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says staff at Bayworld only noticed this morning that the three-year-old was missing.
CCTV footage showed that the two men had broken into the penguin enclosure in the early hours of Thursday morning.
They took several photos and one also was seen removing his shirt.
According to Bayworld's curator of Marine Mammals and Sea Birds, Cheri Lawrence, Buddy had become a father this week when his two chicks were born on Tuesday.
Anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Buddy the penguin should contact Bayworld or the police.
