Buffalo City Municipal employees took to the streets again on Friday where they violently protested near the Mdantsane City Mall in NU6.
Protesters are unhappy over an unpaid Covid-19 risk allowance.
Police have since dispersed the crowd and no arrests were made.
Buffalo City Metro (BCM) Spokesperson Samkelo Ngwenya says no gatherings are allowed under Covid-19 restrictions and the strike is illegal.
He called the strike a wildcat class actions of intimidation, hooliganism and sabotage.
Ngwenya also expressed the Metro's disappointment in the leadership of the Union and asked them to come back to the negotiating table.
He says three people were arrested in King Williams Town on Thursday.
Ngwenya apologised profusely to residents and says it is receiving the serious attention it deserves.
