Police in Kwadwesi are looking for eyewitnesses after a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in Gqeberha on Thursday.
Spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, said Khanya Mwezeni, was standing with two other teenagers in Xundu Street, in Govan Mbeki locality when three suspects armed with knives and a firearm approached them before 8 pm.
He said they demanded cell phones, and after the boys handed over a phone, Mwezeni attempted to run away.
Beetge said one of the suspects shot him, before fleeing the scene with the stolen phone.
He said the other two teenagers were uninjured in the incident.
