Detectives from the Kabega Park police station in Gqeberha are seeking assistance from the community in tracing a man from Theescombe who went missing over two weeks ago.

Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the 56-year-old Carsten Jocksch left his residence on a smallholding in Kragga Kamma Road on the morning of the 2nd of February.

She says he informed his friend that he was going to cycle in the mountains and left in his grey Mercedes Benz sprinter, registration number CAA 133543.

Colonel Naidu says his phone has since been switched off and Jocksch is also in possession of his licensed 9 mm Glock firearm.

She says during their investigation they made contact with the Groendal hiking place and confirmed that Mr Jocksch had never registered to go cycling or hiking since his alleged disappearance.

An appeal is made to anyone who may have spotted him or his vehicle or may know of his whereabouts to contact SAPS Kabega Park, Detective/Warrant/Officer Bertus Blom on 082 442 1017
