Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a business break-in following an attempted break-in at the Standard Bank branch in Central on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says shortly before midnight security officials noticed that the CCTV cameras had been tampered with.
The Bank’s security was immediately alerted and dispatched to investigate. She said Security from head office then noticed some activity inside the bank at 1 am on Sunday morning.
Naidu says they informed police and the security company who responded immediately.
By the time, they arrived the suspects had already managed to break a door to gain access.
Naidu says nothing was stolen and no arrests were made.
Police confiscated equipment which was left behind by the suspects.
The investigating continues.
