One person has died and two others have sustained serious injuries after a bakkie collided with a tipper truck on the R72 between East London and Kidds Beach.
Transport Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, says the truck was making a right turn into a construction site when the accident occurred near the Winterstrand turnoff just after 12 on Wednesday afternoon.
He says while the truck driver escaped unscathed, while a passenger in the front seat of the bakkie died on impact.
Binqose says the bakkie's driver and another passenger were seriously injured while nine others on the bakkie sustained minor injuries.
He says police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
