A 25-year old man accused of the rape and murder of a 63-year-old hospice nurse has been denied bail in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's court on Wednesday.
Police arrested Gcobani Lokwe shortly after the naked body of Penelope Cumming was found in her home in the Schoongezicht Country Estate in Piesang Valley Road on the 29th of January.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie said the suspect was positively linked to the crime by video footage as well as forensic evidence taken on the scene.
Cumming's vehicle which was set alight was later recovered in Nekkies in Knysna.
The case against the suspect was postponed to 28 March.
