Two men arrested for the brazen shooting which left three people dead in Perridgevale in Gqeberha on Good Friday have been refused bail.
The 36-year-old Neaven du Preez, and 29-year-old Jody Cloete who are believed to be part of a group of five men involved in the fatal shooting appeared at the Port Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
They were arrested following a high-speed chase with police shortly after the alleged hit outside the Intercape bus ticket office, which left 21-year-old Davedene Van Zyl and 36-year-old Johannes Bruintjies dead.
An innocent bystander, 28-year-old Fortune Nyathi was also killed in the hail of bullets.
According to the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Xolani Sokanyile's testimony, Van Zyl and Bruintjies were targeted in an ongoing gang dispute over territory.
He said the deceased are believed to have all bought tickets destined for Johannesburg before the incident took place after they left the Acres Spar, where they bought refreshments for the trip.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Nkonyana, said it would not be in the interest of justice to release the pair who were both who were positively identified in CCTV footage of the murders.
She said both Du Preez and Cloete have been previously convicted on charges related to firearms, while Du Preez was out on parole after being convicted of murder.
The men each face 3 charges of murder, 3 of attempted murder, a charge of the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, resisting arrest and theft of a motor vehicle.
The case was postponed until 28 June for further investigations while they hunt for their alleged accomplices is continuing.
