The bail application of a Gqeberha mother who allegedly hired hitmen to murder her son was postponed in the New Brighton Magistrates Court on Friday.
Shayhieda Dollie, 49, has been charged with the premeditated murder of her 22-year-old son, Moegamat Thaafir Dollie.
Moegamat was murdered on 28 October.
It is alleged that Dollie experienced problems with her son, who struggled with a drug addiction and was a nuisance at home.
The alleged motive for the murder was to claim R2m in life insurance, which would be used to compensate the hitmen.
On Friday, the court heard that possible plea negotiations were still underway between the State and the defence.
In an earlier statement released by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), they said Dollie faces a charge of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
It is alleged that when Dollie sought advice on how to deal with her son, various people suggested a "permanent solution."
She allegedly orchestrated a plan with two individuals known as "Shaun" and "Oompie" to hire hitmen from Johannesburg to kill her son.
It is understood that the hitmen's initial fee of R80,000 later increased to R380,000 due to the accused's procrastination.
According to the NPA's statement, Dollie allegedly lured her son to his death under the guise that he had a job interview.
The perpetrators allegedly picked him up, ultimately leading to his murder.
Dollie will appear in court again on 29 November.
