Nelson Mandela Bay executive mayor, Athol Trollip has reshuffled his Mayoral Committee.
Speaking in Port Elizabeth on Monday, Trollip said it was important to review progress made to date, and as such, some changes to the Committee were necessary for the interest of channeling skills and expertise.
He said this would take the coalition government in a direction that ensured continued improvement of service delivery.
Former Municipal Public Accounts chairperson, Lance Grootboom has taken over the Public Health Directorate, which had been vacant for a few months after the United Democratic Movement's Mongameli Bobani was fired.
Trollip said Councillor Annette Lovemore will now be heading up Corporate Services, while her previous position as Head of Infrastructure, Engineering, Electricity & Energy, will be filled by Masixole Zinto.
Corporate Services became vacant after Dean Diddulph resigned on the first of December.
"The rest of the team stays as it is, the rest of the team is committed to continuing the good work that we have started over the last year but we have set ourselves higher sites. We look forward to going into 2018," he said.
Trollip said the MPAC chair position would be vacant and the speaker would deal with the necessary arrangements to fill the position.
"The appointment will be made by the council, it is a council-appointed position and I'm sure we will identify a suitable person to hold down that position and hold the executive to account," he said.
The new Mayoral Committee is as follows:
Cllr Lance Grootboom - Public Health
