Armed Robbery in Greenacres Shopping Centre

 A Port Elizabeth policeman has been wounded in a shoot-out with an armed gang who robbed a jewellery store in Greenacres Shopping Centre a short while.

Details are still sketchy but police said that a get-away car was found abandoned in Mangold Street in Newton Park.

Spokesperson, Captain Johan Rheeder, says at least one suspect is believed to have been wounded following the heist at Fischers Jewellers.
