Port Alfred police are searching for two men who robbed a security officer from G4Security at a mall on Tuesday morning of a substantial, but undisclosed amount of cash.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, says the security official had just collected a shock trolley filled with cash when he was confronted by two unknown males.
She says the suspects fled the mall in a silver Corsa bakkie which was later found abandoned on the Southwell gravel road, about 5 kilometres from the scene.
No arrests were made.
Govender says further inquiries revealed that the bakkie was being sought by police in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, in connection with a case reported in August.
