Police are still looking for four suspects after the Mossel Bay Golf Club was robbed of a large sum of money last night.
Four men held security guards and staff of the club at gunpoint in the clubhouse on the ground floor at around eight o clock on Wednesday night.
Golf players who were socialising on the second floor of the clubhouse were unaware of the events taking place on the ground floor.
The suspects demanded safe keys and stole R40 000.
Six cell phones were also taken from the victims.
The men fled in a staff member of the clubhouse's vehicle. The City Golf was found abandoned near the Mossel Bay Provincial Hospital on Thursday morning.
It is the first robbery in the club's existence.
Manager Louw Strydom told Algoa FM News that they are currently going through footage of the clubhouse's CCTV Cameras and that the club will tighten
up its security measures. No suspects have been arrested.
