Police in Kirkwood have launched a manhunt for a group of suspects who robbed a Post office in Voortrekker street on Wednesday.
Police Spokesperson Captain Khaya Tonjeni says it is alleged that three men entered the business and pretended to be clients.
Two suspects then threatened personnel with firearms and demanded entry into a restricted area where they demanded money in the safe.
He says the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cellphones, before fleeing the scene in two separate vehicles.
The robbers fled in a silver Mercedes Benz and a white Audi which was found abandoned and burnt out on the R336 about 8 km outside Kirkwood.
Police are following up on all leads.
