Port Elizabeth police are urging garage and business owners to educate their staff and teach them to be more vigilant and alert to their surroundings.
This follows after two petrol-stations were targeted by armed robbers in less than 24 hours.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the first incident happened at a garage in Westering, shortly after midnight on Saturday, when three men with a firearm entered the store.
The assistant was busy attending to a customer when the suspects demanded cash. They also fled a few packets of cigarettes, energy drinks and the customer's cell phone.
Naidu says the second incident was on Saturday afternoon at about 4 pm in Korsten.
Five suspects threatened the shop assistant with a firearm, demanding cash and cigarettes before they fled.
No arrests have been made.
