Armed response officers deliver tiny bundle of joy

Two armed security officers went beyond the call of duty when they responded to a call-out in Parsons Ridge, in Port Elizabeth.

Atlas Security said their control room received an emergency call on Thursday night from a client who notified them of a woman in labour and needing urgent assistance.

Roberto Schutte and Kurt Willemse, who are both “medically trained”, were dispatched and were able to assist the woman in bringing "a new life safely into the world,” the company said in a statement.

The pair were commended for their “bravery” and both mother and baby boy were said to be doing well.
