A 25-year-old man from Centane was stabbed to death following an argument over a box of matches.
Police Spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha says it is alleged that the victim and his friend went to the suspect's house in the early hours of Wednesday morning to ask for tobacco.
The suspect gave them some tobacco and went back to bed.
Manatha says the man later discovered that the victim also took his box of matches.
The 41-year-old suspect went to the home of the 25-year-old and demanded his matches back.
A heated argument broke out and the suspect allegedly drew his knife before stabbing the man in his chest.
The victim died on the scene.
The suspect will appear in the Centane Magistrates' Court on Thursday on a charge of murder.
