Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the death of the water superintendent of the Klipfontein area near Cookhouse.
Police captain Stefanie Smith, says Frank du Plessis, who was in his late 50s, was stabbed several times in the neck yesterday following an argument with two of his workers.
He died at the scene.
His wife, Betsy du Plessis, sustained minor injuries when she was assaulted by the suspects who then ransacked their house.
They fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and other household items.
Smith says one of the suspects was arrested shortly after the incident by a farmer in the area who was alerted to the scene.
Cookhouse and Bedford police combined forces and managed to arrest the second suspect.
