Two men have been shot dead and three others injured after a group of men broke down the door of a house in Malabar Extension 6.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the incident happened after midnight in Calvert Street.
She says the gunmen were looking for the owner's son.
Colonel Naidu says four occupants in the house managed to escape but the remaining five were rounded up and shot in the kitchen.
She says 28-year-old Ruben Stuurman and 24-year-old Yano Richards sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the scene while another three victims were taken to hospital.
The motive for the shootings is not yet clear and no arrests have been made.
Police have implemented their 72-hour activation plan.
