Police in Cookhouse have opened a case of public violence after a muncipal building was set alight by dissatisfied community members.
Police spokesperson, Captain Stephanie Smith, says the building was partly damaged, while residents also burnt tyres and barricaded the N-10 road on Thursday night
Smith says the incident is a continuation of the same protests earlier this week.
"They are alleged dissatisfied with services being rendered by the local muncipality. Last night there was another incident again where the muncipality offices were set alight, the police managed to distinguish the fire quickly, they had to disperse the crowd. At this stage no arrests have been made." says Smith
