ANC Women's league in Eastern Cape mull over nomination process

The ANC Women's League in the Eastern Cape will host an ordinary session on Monday to consider its leadership preferences which will be decided at the ANC conference in Mangaung in December.

The ANC Youth League in the province will also host its own session on the leadership question after the party opened the nomination process from Monday.

This weekend the party revealed that ANC member numbers in the Eastern Cape had dropped by around 35 000, widely seen as a blow to efforts to replace ANC president Jacob Zuma.

In contrast, Kwazulu Natal, seen as a Zuma stronghold, saw its membership numbers rise by around 90 000 members.

The nomination process will close at the end of November.
