The ANC's Provincial Executive Committee in the Eastern Cape will visit Nelson Mandela’s home in Qunu on Sunday afternoon for prayers and expression of compassion with members of the Aba-Thembu Royal Family
ANC Provincial Secretary, Oscar Mabuyane says the visit to the Mandela home in Qunu is inline with the Xhosa culture where friends and associates of a person who has passed on, visit the family to mourn with them by saying a prayer and words of comfort to the family and loved ones.
He says with Sunday having been declared a national day of prayer and reflection by President Jacob Zuma, the ANC in the province will hold prayer services in all eight provincial regions.
Mabuyane says party leaders will be deployed to churches, synagogues, mosques and community halls.
