The ANC in the Eastern Cape says the courts are the correct platform upon which to determine and test rape allegations against a top official in the office of Premier Phumulo Masualle.
ANC provincial spokesperson, Oscar Mabuyane, says the ruling party has noted the reports on the arrest of provincial Director General, Dr Loyiso Mbabane.
He says while the ANC is firmly against child and women abuse in any form, including rape, the case against Dr Mbabane should run its course through the courts.
Mabuyane says the ANC in the Eastern Cape will not be commenting further on the matter until the case is completed.
