The Office of the ANC Chief Whip says its learned with shock and deep sadness of the tragic passing of ANC Member of Parliament, Fezeka Loliwe.
She was killed in a motor vehicle accident on the R63 near Alice on Monday while on her way from her parliamentary Constituency Office in Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape.
Police Captain Mali Govender says there was a single vehicle involved in the accident and that the driver was alone in the vehicle
ANC Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu's office described Loliwe as a dedicated public representative who had joined Parliament in 2014.
She served as the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee (PC) on Labour and had previously served as the ANC Whip for the same committee.
Loliwe also formed part of the team which conducted the Parliamentary Inquiry into the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
Mthembu extended his heartfelt condolences to the Loliwe family and said her untimely departure leaves a deep void within structures of the ANC Caucus and Parliament as a whole.
