The ANC in the Eastern Cape celebrated the outcome of the 2019 election results in the province in East London on Friday evening.
The governing party took 68.74 percent of the vote in the province.
Hundreds of ANC supporters from the Buffalo City Metro were ferried in minibus taxis to Ebuhlanti on the beachfront to share a toast with the party's provincial leadership.
The party's provincial secretary Lulama Ngcukayitobi led the toast celebrations.
Addressing the crowd, ANC provincial chairperson, Oscar Mabuyane said the actual celebrations would still take place.
He said that the party had "no time to waste", as a huge task awaited them.
Mabuyane said for the next five years they were going to turn around the economic fortunes of the province, and would assist SMME's to create jobs.
He said that the next general election in 2024 would be "made easy by what was going to be achieved in the five years".
