The ANC in Nelson Mandela Bay says it will commit the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality to enhance its service delivery programme and to get back to business as soon as the election victory celebrations are over.
ANC regional secretary, Zandisile Qupe, said the ruling party's humbled by the overwhelming support and trust shown in the ANC, which will romp to victory in the Eastern Cape.
In a statement overnight Qupe said over the last twenty years, the ANC-led Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality managed to deliver houses, road and electricity infrastructure, assistance to the poor, provision of safe drinking water to our constituency.
Meanwhile, the final results for the Nelson Mandela Metro shows the ANC majority below 50% at 48.93% of the vote to the DA's 40.68%.
Its the first time that the ANC has dipped under 50% of the vote in Nelson Mandela Bay, which Qupe said is a concern.
He agreed that the ruling party has its work cut out in the run-up to the 2016 local government election.
