AmaXhosa King dies

The AmaXhosa King His Majesty, Mpendulo Zwelonke Sigcawu has died.

Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane confirmed the death in a brief statement on Thursday.

He also expressed his condolences to the Royal family, AmaXhosa and to those who worked with him.

The Provincial MEC for Cooperative Governance and traditional affairs Xolile Nqata will visit the royal family to offer moral support.

The King died in the early hours of Thursday morning.
