Members of the Somerset East Community gathered outside the local court on Monday where a man accused of child sex offences made another brief court appearance.
Sixty-four-year-old Lukas Rudman faces at least a dozen allegations, including rape, sexual assault, and grooming of young children.
The case against him was postponed to January for a High Court date to be set and his bail was extended.
Rudman, whose alleged victims were as young as 11, would allegedly lure them to his house by purportedly enticing them with money, food, and shoes.
Speaking outside court ANC branch executive member, Dr Mvuso Nkcoso-lwana, said the community was upset at the fact that Rudman had been released on bail earlier.
"This person has caused so much trauma to our children, they are living in fear and cannot even play outside. They fear they will become one of his long list of victims" he said.
