Alleged double killer appears in court in Willowvale in the EC

The 20-year-old man who was charged of murdering two sisters appeared at the Willowvale Magistrates Court on Friday.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Luxolo Tyali identified the suspect as Thando Mgqobhozi.

Mgqobhozi allegedly raped, robbed and murdered 12-year-old Siyamthanda Koli and her 16-year-old sister Cordelia.

Their bodies were found early on Tuesday morning after they attended a traditional ceremony at Mgojweni Location in Nqadu Village in Willowvale in the Eastern Cape.

They were found in a plantation about three kilometres away from the homestead that had the ceremony.

Mghobozi has been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of rape and one charge of robbery.

He will appear in court again on the 10th of this month for legal representation.
