The five accused charged with the murder of a Gqeberha policeman made a brief appearance in the Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
41-year-old Sergeant Khayalethu Mbonomnyama, who was stationed at the Swartkops rapid response unit, was killed in a suspected hit in Motherwell in May last year.
The state alleges that Nomawhethu Sandile orchestrated Mbonomnyama's killing in a bid to silence him for contesting his late father's will.
The details of her alleged involvement were laid bare by Hawks detective, Warrant Officer Shane Bosch, during Sandile's bid for bail.

The policeman's father, Jameson Sebenzile Mbonomnyama, who was 64 years old at the time of his death in May 2022, was married to Sandile's daughter, Bomikazi, who became his heir.
Mbonomnyama contested his father's will upon learning of the inheritance going to his much younger stepmother, who was in her twenties.
However, Bomikazi was gunned down six months after her husband died, and details surrounding her death remain unclear.
Upon Bomikazi's death in November 2022, Sandile become her sole heir.
It is alleged that brothers Mfezeko and Ayanda Khelephu, Masithembe Manundu, and Luvuyo Nkomozonke were the hired gun.
All of the accused are out on bail.
The case postponed to 3 May for further investigation.
