Algoa Bus Strike hits its 9th day

The strike by South African Transport and Allied Workers Union at Algoa Bus company in Nelson Mandela Bay has entered its 9th day.

The company's fleet of buses remains idle, forcing commuters to find other ways of getting to and from work.

SATAWU's Honest Sinama says all parties involved in the dispute are scheduled to meet next week to find a solution.

Sinama says the meeting will be between the three striking Unions and Algoa Bus  company.

He says a meeting where a CCMA representative must be present,  as previously proposed by Algoa Bus Company CEO, Sicelo Duze will further delay the process.

"The is a scheduled meeting that we are looking at on Tuesday the sixth. The meeting is the company and the Union. We are of the view that section 150 whereby there should be a mediator from the CCMA  is going to take  a long time"- He said
