A driver for the Algoa Bus company in Port Elizabeth is in a stable condition in the Mercantile hospital after being shot during an armed robbery.
Police captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the bus driver stopped in Booysens Park just before 8pm on Thursday night to drop off his last two passengers.
As the bus came to a halt, a man jumped on board and pointed a gun at the bus driver.
A shot went off, hitting the driver in the stomach.
Janse van Rensburg says a suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
