ADT security officer killed in PE


Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of murder after an emloyee of ADT security was shot dead in Booysens Park on Friday night.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer, Alwin Labans, says the 35-year-old man had responded to a call-out when he was attacked.

He says the security officer, who's name has not yet been released, was found in his car with several bullet wounds to the neck.

Labans says a magazine with 15 rounds, a cellphone and two-way radio were stolen from his vehicle.

No arrests have been made.

In a seperate incident, Labans says three employees of G4 Security Services were injured on Saturday morning when their vehicle was involved in a collission with a car and then overturned.

He says nothing was taken from the security vehicle and police are treating it as an accident.

Meanwhile, Port Elizabeth police also reported several shooting incident in Helenvale and Bethelsdorp on Friday night and early Saturday morning.

In one incident in 'Barcelona', near Helenvale, a 29-year-old man was wounded in the stomach when he and a friend came under fire from three men.

Labans says the friend escaped unharmed.

In another incident in Jacksonville in the Bethelsdorp area a 19-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were wounded when two men fired no less than 20 shots at them and two other men.

Labans says the victims friends were not hit.

No arrests have been made in any of the case.
