Former EP Rugby Boss Cheeky Watson has been dealt a blow in his fraud and money laundering case in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court.
Watson's legal team submitted an objection on Monday to the State adding an additional charge against their client - namely one of failure to report suspicion of theft.
The Court ruled on Tuesday morning, however, that the additional charge against Watson can stand.
Watson and his co-accused - Nadia Gerwel, Andrea Wessels and Mandisi Mkasa are already facing charges of fraud and money laundering following a lengthy probe into alleged fraudulent activities involving around R12 million that was meant for the city's Integrated Public Transport System.
They have since pleaded not guilty to all the charges against them.
Watson cut a relaxed figure in court on Tuesday and even agreed to an AlgoaFM News request to pose for a photograph.
