Six people have been killed in two separate head-on collisions in the Eastern Cape on Monday.
A seventh death was recorded when a pedestrian was hit on the R56 between Maclear and Mt Fletcher, near Katkop.
A spokesperson for Provincial Traffic Unathi Binqose says the accidents happened on the R62 between Kareedouw and Joubertina and on the N2, Mthatha road.
On the R62 a truck and VW Polo collided head-on killing the driver of the car and his passenger on impact.
He says a passenger who sustained injuries in the truck died in hospital.
The second accident happened on Monday night when a Mazda collided head-on with a Fidelity truck.
Both occupants in the Mazda and one of the fidelity guards were killed.
Several people have lost their lives in the Eastern Cape since the 1st of June when the country moved down to Lockdown Level 3.
