Accident involving herd of cattle claims six lives

Six people have been killed in an accident on the N2 near Butterworth, involving a herd of cows and three vehicles.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, says a Volkswagen microbus, Nissan bakkie and Ford Figo collided after one of them crashed into a herd of cows crossing the road at about 8pm on Thursday night.
Six people died at the scene, and nine were taken to Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the Eastern Cape MEC for Transport, Roads and Public Works, Thandiswa Marawu, will address the mass funeral of six Mabalengwe Senior Secondary School pupils at Siqikini village on Friday.
The six died on a road accident while being transported on a bakkie from school at Coza village near Libode on the 6th of March.
